a series inspired by light

The hour before sunset is truly my favourite time of day.  It has a few names: twilight, dusk, the gloaming but the one I use is, "The golden hour."  Maybe that's a practical nod to the fact that most images that turn into my paintings are taken at this time of day, so it's linked to my paycheck.  But how many times have I stood in my kitchen, caught at the sight of the golden light hitting the firs in my backyard? Countless.  There is something substantive and powerful that stops me in my tracks - this light limning the mundane with such beauty.  A jolt of energy.  A promise.  A moment of incarnation.
